George Linney was one of the thousands of soldiers who were sent to France in ever increasing numbers during the Great War of 1914-18. Like many others he was billeted in a South East town while he awaited the dreaded orders to proceed to Folkestone or Dover on the way to the trenches. Rye Chosen for Hospice Neighbours Launch

When you are living with a life limiting illness, the world doesn’t stop and there are many everyday tasks that still need to be done. For those living with illness, the added upset of facing an overgrown garden that cannot be maintained or the difficult decision of losing a much loved pet that can’t be exercised can add even more distress to an already testing time. A new service provided by St Michael’s Hospice and launching in Rye aims to alleviate these pressures by seeking ‘Hospice Neighbours’ to help those in need.
