Immigration officials questioned twenty people, including two children, rescued from an inflatable boat off the Kent coast on Sunday 29 May.

A man who broke into a house in Peasmarsh, near Rye, during the morning of Friday, 29 January, while a teenage boy was at home alone has been sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to robbery.

Police are appealing for witnesses following three burglaries in Rye between midday and 4pm on Thursday 12 May. Two of the offences were in Udimore Road and the other was in Cooper Road.
Police are searching for four men who carried out a late-night robbery at a house in Hastings.

Police are offering a £500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect who robbed William Hill bookmakers in North Road, Lancing, on Thursday (5 May).
A man went into the premises at around 11am, jumped over the counter and punched the staff member before demanding money. He made off with £400 from the till. No weapons were seen.
The suspect made off north along North Road and then along Culver Road. Police have released this CCTV photo of him. He is white, aged in his 30s, between 5′ 11″ and 6′ and was wearing a grey jacket with the hood up.
Detective Sergeant Simon Dunn said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the staff member. We want to hear from anyone who saw this robbery or has any information. We are offering £500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.”

On Friday (29 April) police officers acting on information from within the community raided a house in Oakfield Road, Ore, Hastings, and seized more than 70 cannabis plants being cultivated within the property.
It was estimated they could yield some £60,000 worth of the Class B prohibited drug on the black market.
Also seized was hydroponics equipment used to grow the drug.
A 33-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and is expected to be bailed while enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Paul Graham, of Hastings CID, said: “This was a good example of information supplied from within the community being used to target an illegal operation of quite significant proportions.
“We would encourage anyone who suspects such activity to get in touch. Information is treated in the strictest confidence, yet can often be vital in enabling us to target the perpetrators.”

St Leonards man has been sentenced to more than ten years imprisonment for drugs and firearms offences.
