Katy Alexander joined the Rye Wheelers towards the end of the 2004 racing season. Her efforts that year cut Roma Page’s Ladies “10” record by 51 seconds to 30-02. She also established a Ladies “15” record of 46-31 in the last event of the year. Continue reading Katy Alexander

Wheelers Fun Day

The Rye & District Wheelers Fun Day held on the Strand Quay on Saturday 28 May featured a marathon ride on rollers the equivalent distance of Rye to Land’s End. Three Races in Three Days

The racing members of the club were busy over the first weekend in September with some riders competing in threee time trials. The final Tenterden Evening “10” 0f the year was won by the Wheeler’s man of the moment Barry Goodsell. Winchelsea Road Sprint

Old Event Revived

The Prewar Rye Wheelers ran an annual “Winchelsea Road Sprint” to find the fastest sprinters in the club. The race, held on the newly built Winchelsea Road, took the form of two time trials over a distance of a quarter of a mile. One from a standing start position and one with a flying start.
