Awarded First Rosette

The Beach Bistro at The Gallivant Hotel

The Beach Bistro at at The Gallivant, Camber, has just picked up its very first AA Rosette for the excellence of the dining experience and cooking.

The inspector particularly liked the use of the locally sourced ingredients that are at the heart of the kitchens principles and thought that every dish sampled was ‘superb’. With a few very minor improvements the inspector believed the Bistro would comfortably achieve a 2nd rosette at the next inspection which should be in around 9 months time.

Chef Trevor was delighted with the accolade ‘I’m particularly proud about the team effort required to get this award. 9 months ago I knew we weren’t at a standard to achieve this. Now my kitchen and front of house team are really rising to the challenge of becoming a stand-out dining destination in the South East and we look forward to the next inspection.’

The Beach Bistro relies on the quality of the ingredients sourced from artisan suppliers, family fishermen and farmers that live and work within 30 miles of the Bistro. The New England Bistro is a light and airy space where modern British food is served. Chef Trevor Hambley is at the helm, returning to his country roots after many years working alongside the likes of Marco Pierre White and Jean Christophe Novelli.
