A 36-year-old man from Ashford was drinking in the Camber Castle Pub on Lydd Road at around 6pm on Sunday (October 1).

Do you recognise this man?

Massive Farm Fire Near Camber

Fire crews from Rye and others including  Hastings, Battle and Ashford are fighting a multi-building farm fire just outside Camber on the Lydd Road.

Police and ambulance attendance, but as far as we can ascertain there were no injuries.  Around ten fire appliances are at the blaze, including a Ladder Platform and around fifty firefighters,. Police seek witnesses to crash involving a van and a lorry on the A259 near Rye

The A259 road on the Kent-Sussex border at East Guldeford, near Rye, was closed in both directions for almost seven hours on Wednesday (26 October).

RNLI Fish Supper on Sunday 16th October

After the tragic events which occurred off Camber this recent summer, The Gallivant will be hosting a delicious Fish Supper on Sunday 16th October from 6pm, in support of this country’s extraordinary public services, the RNLI, who are dedicated to saving lives at sea around the coasts of Britain and Ireland.

The five men who died at Camber Sands have now been named.

They are Kenugen Saththiyanathan, 18, and his brother Kobikanthan Saththiyanathan, 22 both of Normandy Way, Erith and their friends Nitharsan Ravi, 22 of Admaston Road, Plumstead, Inthushan Sriskantharasa, 23 of Chadwell Road, Grays and Gurushanth Srithavarajah, 27 of Elsa Road, Welling.
