One Hundred and Thirty-Two riders set out from the Rye Club in Market Road in the Rye & Winchelsea Rotary 100k 2017 Tour of the Marshes.
There were shorter distance rides for for youngsters and the less adventurous. Most riders choose the longer distance.

There has been a lot of talk recently on reviving many of the old annual events staged in Rye but which, over the years, have fallen by the wayside.
Rye Sports Day, Rye Medieval Festival, Miss Rye, The Raft Race and Rye in Bloom to name just a few. It is hoped the meeting on Wednesday 9 February will be the start of getting at least two of these old classics back on the Rye Programme. We all cheered on Bradley Wiggins, Chris Hoy, Vicky Pendleton and all those other great cyclists who have helped to restore our national pride and depleted gold reserves. Tears of joy and emotion, the like of which has not been seen since 1966 when England won the World Cup, erupted on Olympic rostrums and in the front rooms of Britain.
