Lions Aid Air Ambulance

Following the launch of the Lions Clubs Air Ambulance Night Flying Appeal, Rye and District Lions have made a further donation to the Air Ambulance of £500. Their total contribution over the last three years is £1,250. In presenting the cheque to members of one of the specialist teams, Malcolm McDonough, Rye Lions President, said “This is a vital service for all in the South East and any of us could have our lives saved by the Air Ambulance in an emergency”. Lions Aid Orphanages Again

For the thirteenth year, the Lions Clubs in the Southeast have sent vital necessities to orphanages and families in need in Belarus. Rye and District Lions have assisted Judy Pope, wife of Rye Lions Stuart Pope, who has collected most of the items, by transporting the boxes of donated goods from Rye to Queenborough. Lions are Still Assisting Haiti

There has been some criticism recently about promises of aid made by NGOs at this time last year to assist Haiti, which do not seem to be being met. Whilst this could be true in some instances, this accusation can not be made about the assistance the Lions are still giving to Haiti.
