Difficult Times

Coronavirus has closed all theatres, Public Houses and Events. It has put vintage performers and models out of work overnight and will mean that here at Vintage World we have no Vintage events to report on.

Many performers are stuck at home or spending the bulk of their time for the during the duration of this nightmare period in our lives, avoiding contact with others wherever they can.

Many Vintage performers are putting on live Facebook broadcasts from their front rooms and doing a great job keeping in touch with their fans, and we hope, finding many new ones. Their income has dropped to zero so some have added a paypal connection where viewers can express their appreciation and support performers in a practical way.

Vintage models and vintage fashion enthusiasts are even worse off. No events to go to, many photographers in lock down, many in lock down situations themselves.

Here at Cinque Ports Publications, where Vintage World and three other hard-copy magazines are produced, we are in the same boat as many of our friends in the world of vintage, thinking of ways we can survive this uncertain period in the history of the world with no events to cover and members of our team in ‘lock down mode’.

Competition Time

So we have put our heads together and worked out that those stuck indoors are getting as fed-up and bored with the situation as we are. Every one will have a telephone or camera and at least one room where pictures, even selfies, can be created.

We are lunching a series of indoor competitions which may add a bit of fun to your lives and ours. No big prizes (we need all our reserves to keep things going) but all winners will appear in print in Vintage World.

Other pictures may also be published in any of the four magazines and even articles, done on a email question and answer system.
