Rye Wheeler Hurt in Crash in Cornwall

Fell on Decent.

An announcement on the Rye Wheelers webside is telling of an accident among the eight riders from the club who are taking part in a ride from Lands End to Rye.

It seems that Chris Ashbee came off his bike on a downhill section of the ride through Cornwall and and suffered back injuries.

The first report was of three broken bones in his back. Later bulletins said he was moving around and his son would be collecting him at the weekend.

Chris, who played football and cricket for local teams and ran many marathon foot races, has been in the Wheelers for several years and is one of the strongest veteran riders.

We hope he soon recovers from his injuries and is soon back on his bike.
