Coordinated by Rye in Bloom and Rye Allotments Association.
Now is the time to pick up your Schedule for the 2008 Flower and Vegetable Show which will take place on Saturday 30th August 2008. This year the show is a joint effort between Rye in Bloom and Rye Allotments Association.
There are classes for everyone including fruit, vegetables, flowers and foliage and if gardening isn’t your interest then you could enter the cookery classes or photography and handicraft sections.
This year’s photography classes include ‘A Film Title’ to be judged by the public, ‘The Weather’ and ‘A Single Flower’. For children there is a ‘decorate a paper plate’ for the up to 5 year olds or ‘make a garden in a tray’ for the up to 15 year age group.
So if you have tasty tomatoes, delightful dahlias, can turn out a fantastic fruit loaf or simply grow gorgeous garden flowers then pick up your schedule/entry form to find out how to enter. Schedules can be found all round the town – look out at Rye Town Hall, The Partnership Offices, Martello Bookshop, Adams, The Library, Neames and the Tilling Green shops. This year’s schedule also includes various interesting, funny and informative articles, recipes and topical cartoons and it’s free!
We are very grateful to our advertisers this year and our special thanks go to Rye Allotments Association, Rye Town Council, The Rye Partnership, The Rye and Battle Observer, Four Seasons Guest House and Rye in Bloom who are generously sponsoring this year’s prizes. Watch the press for further details.
