Police seek witnesses to robbery in St Leonards

Police are appealing for witnesses to a knife-point robbery at the One Stop store in Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards.

At around 10.10pm on Sunday (26 February) a man walked into the shop and threatened the two staff members with a knife. One of the shop workers, a 34-year-old man, sustained a minor injury to his hand during the incident.

The suspect made off with approximately £690 in cash. He is described as white, 6′, of slim to medium build and with stubble. He was wearing a light coloured mask with red markings around the eyes and mouth, a blue hooded top with a small motif, dark denim jeans and yellow gloves.

DC Dominic Brown said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the offender or witnessed the incident. It is possible that someone tried to come into the shop as the robbery was taking place and we are extremely keen to speak to this person.”
