At Rye Town Hall
The Mayor of Rye, Councillor John Breeds held a pre Christmas reception
at the Town Hall on 10 December. Students from the Rye College entertained
the gathering with a stunning display of music and song.
Some of the youngsters performed material they had written themselves.
They were very well received. What a long way the Rye College has
come since the bad old days towards the end of the life of the Thomas
Peacocke. Now, once again, the education establishments in Rye seem
part of the community again and the gap between young and old has
closed, thanks to the way the young people of the College are taking
part in so many town activities.
