A gatering of invited guests packed Rye Town Hall on Monday 7 May to elect and witness the inaugeration a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Both the new Mayor, Councillor MICHAEL BOYD and Deputy, Councillor RIBEKAH GILBERT were nominated and elected without challenge and took their Oath and signed their acceptance of office.
Regular readers will know that Rye’s Own has never been shy when
criticising East Sussex County Council and Council Leader, Keith Glazier
but things said about him and East Sussex C.C. relating to the demise
of popular local charity ARRCC by a local internet news service have
got Rye’s Own jumping to their defence.
Well done to our volunteer website manager, Dace Homa, who finds enough time in her busy life to put post after post from back issues of Rye’s Own, Hastings Town and Cinque Ports magazines and archives into the Rye’s Own Website.
