How Lovely are Thy Dwellings Rehearsals are in full swing for our next big concert celebrating the 900th. anniversary of St. Marys Church in Rye. We are delighted to be able to join in the celebrations by performing a very varied programme of music dedicated to the theme of “How Lovely are Thy Dwellings”. We had originally anticipated that we might perform the Brahms Requiem, but will now be singing only the fourth item from it, which is the basis for the title of our concert. We will be singing Haydn’s lovely “Little Organ Mass”, Stanford’s “Magnificat”, Britten’s “There is no Rose” and “As Dew in Aprille”, Vaughan Willaims’s Antiphon”, Vilvaldi’s “Gloria”, Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” from The Messiah, Goodall’s “Psalm 23” plus other items. The concert will take place on Saturday, 4th. October 2003 in St. Marys Church, starting at 7:30pm. We look forward to seeing you at the church for an evening of wonderful, inspirational music. Why not come and join us? If you would like to come along and sing for enjoyment, then we meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall. Give Lesley, our musical director a ring on 222637 and have a chat, if you are at all nervous about joining she will put your mind at rest. There are no auditions.
