Outstanding Victory for Young Rye Wheeler
On a miserable wet morning, Rye Wheeler William Murtagh was the outright winner of the Hastings Hill Climb which took place this morning Sunday 16 October 2016.
His winning time of 5 minutes 17 seconds on the legendary Battery Hill at Fairlight gave him a 13 second margin over the best rider from Hastings, Sam Anstell who’s 5 . 30 was a good ride in the conditions.
Rye’s Rebecca Wilson won the Ladies event, being the only woman to complete the tough course. Her time of 6-54 was very creditable
