Sandra is off to Minehead for the Final
On the 15th October local girl Sandra Kewell of Lea Avenue, a pretty seventeen years old, lined up before the judges at the area final of the Butlin’s Princess Competition held at the holiday camp Minehead in Somerset.
To get to this final, Miss Kewell qualified by winning the preliminary heat at the Bognor Regis Holiday Camp on 26th July. The prize on that occasion was the four day holiday she is now enjoying at Minehead. At the time of going to press, the event was still to take place but at the time of publication, the nine beauties selected to go forward to the Grand Final to be he1d at the Bognor Regis Camp early next year, will be patting themselves on the back. The prizes for success in this competition are very high indeed. £1,000 and a Silver Challenge Trophy for the winner’, and £100 each for the 10 runners up. We sincerely hope that Sandra, from our home town of Rye, is among the winners on that great day.
