Road Rage Incident Near Rye. Can You Help?

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported road rage incident in Udimore Road, Broad Oak near Rye on Monday (28 December).

A 30-year-old woman from London told officers she was driving at around 4.30pm when a pickup truck – travelling in the opposite direction – overtook parked vehicles on the side of the road and encroached into her lane.

Both the car and the pickup truck came to a stop in the middle of the road before the truck is reported to have collided with the car at low speed. Both drivers got out of their vehicles and the woman was assaulted but not injured. There was further contact between the two vehicles before the pickup truck drove off.

The other driver has been described as a white man, about 5’10”, of stocky build, with short grey hair and is thought to be aged between 40-50-years-old.

PC Thomas Thorpe said: “This was a violent and prolonged altercation which happened on a busy main road.
