Exciting Pyjama Walk News
The ever-popular Ashford Pyjama Walk for Pilgrims Hospices raised over £46,000 this year.
Victoria Lawrence, Community Fundraising Manager for Pilgrims Hospice, Ashford said: “I’m delighted and thrilled to share the news with our community supporters, the total of over £46,000 is amazing. More than £31,000 of this total was raised through participant sponsorship which really goes to show how everyone’s contributions, no matter how big or small, all add up to make a difference for our patients and their families.”
New Pilgrims Wellbeing and Social Programme launches
new service to help people with a life limiting illness to access the support they need earlier is set to launch across east Kent.
The Wellbeing and Social Programme is free for anyone in the later stages of a life limiting illness and aims to enhance their wellbeing in mind and body.
.“The Wellbeing Programme is here to support people with a terminal diagnosis earlier in their journey stay independent, improve symptoms and to support them emotionally so they can live each day well. Services are also available for carers – be they friends or family – to support them too with self-care and in their role as a carer. We want to increase the number of people benefit from these valuable services.”
Pilgrims Hospice Ashford Christmas Fair is on the move
Victoria Lawrence, Community Fundraising Manager explained the reasons for the move: “Over the years the Christmas Fair has become one of the highlights of our calendar. But finding somewhere that can allow it to grow even more had become essential this year, so the search began.
“We are thrilled to announce that Towers School and Sixth Form Centre has offered us the free use of their premises for our biggest ever fair, which promises to showcase more Christmas crafts and gifts than ever. Many thanks to Towers for their generosity and to our wonderful sponsors for showing their continued support.
“So come along to the Pilgrims Hospice Ashford Christmas Fair at our exciting new venue of Towers School, Faversham Road, Ashford on Saturday 12th November from 10.30am until 3.30pm. With free entry, light refreshments and lunch, crafts, gifts, games, tombolas and a host of external trade stalls on offer, there will be something for all the family to enjoy. What better way to see in the festive season than by supporting your local hospice.
