All for One and None for All

They are Not Happy in the Villages

It seems that there is a large stirring of discontent in the hills and valleys around  Sellindge and other villages near Hythe.

Hythe MP, Damian Collins, is coming under heavy criticism from many of his erstwhile supporters because he is apparently backing the building of a Lorry Park for over 3,000  Heavy Goods Vehicles and the construction of 12,000 houses on local green fields.

Many residents are so angry about his non interest in their protest movement, that has already conducted two massive marches to draw attention to their grievances, they have now turned on him with a direct  plea for voters to remember his actions and vote him out the next time he stands for election.

The following has appeared in the latest Sellindge & District Residents Association Newsletter.

Put this in your diary for the next election

It hadn’t escaped our notice that our MP, Damian Collins is grateful to the electorate of the Shepway area for their support as confirmed by the message from the great man himself below.

What he should have been saying was:

‘Thanks for the continued support, riding in on the back of Michael Howard, but I’m only passing through on my way to the top, seeking a cabinet position on HM Government. My interests and agenda is not one that I will share with you as I tread the path of my political career’. I will tell you now that I am prepared to be subservient to the incumbent Prime Minister to reach my political goal to the detriment of local Parishioners.

A few of our local residents have contacted us and asked us to counter

the official statement of dear Damian above, so on this occasion we are ‘laughing in the face

all-for-one-and-none-for-all

of adversity’ and momentarily sharing this image and text with you all. We hope you all agree that the famous Musketeer quote (with the additional N) sums up Damian, so to speak, In a nutshell.

ALL FOR ONE AND NONE FOR ALL

S&DRA.

Cinque Ports Magazine would be happy to publish ‘in full’ a reply from the Cinque Port MP  to the very serious concerns that local inhabitants have about these massive developments. After all is said and done, he was elected to ‘champion’ his constituents and support THEM.

One local gentleman told this magazine  “I have been a Conservative all my life because their policy has always been to ‘conserve’. This development is out of all proportion to needs of the area and will destroy the lifestyle of people living here. We know that more houses are needed, but the reason they are being built in such massive numbers here is because the price of each house costs the same to build wherever it is built but the sale prices of properties here are more than double 90% of other places in the country, so double the profit and we get to the real truth – GREED IS THE REASON FOR BUILDING SO MANY HERE”.

We repeat – Cinque Ports Magazine would be happy to publish ‘in full’ a reply from the Cinque Port MP to the very serious concerns that local inhabitants have about these massive developments. After all is said and done, he was elected to ‘champion’ his constituents and support THEM.
