For the fifth year in a row the fabulous Ore Masqueraders family group have won ‘Best in Show’ at the Hastings Old Town Carnival.
This year their theme was a 1950’s American Diner. The attention to detail and the magnificent costumes illustrate the time and energy that have been put in to the project. It is a real group effort with everybody offering something towards the enterprise.
The Masqueraders started planning for next year straight after this year’s event was over.
The group told me they would like to thank The Carnival Commitee and Organisers and were especially grateful to the thousands of people who watched the carnival, for their excellent support along the procession route.
Thank you Ore Masqueraders, the Carnival is so much richer for your participation and Hastings is a far better place for all the wonderful people like you who bring so much colour to the town, especially in these times of austerity and uncertainty.
The spirit of the people of Hastings & St. Leonards shines out in the many unique events that take place throughout the year.
Well done Masqueraders, there is already speculation as to what you will be up to next year.
