Mary Poppins Flies Away

RYE’S OWN MARY POPPINS FLIES AWAY

Nineteen year old brunette Jennie Lewis of  Tillingham Avenue, Rye, is about to set out on a journey of adventure that can only be rivalled by that of Mary Poppins.

Jennie flies to Boston, Massachusetts later this month where she will be taking up the post of nannie to three children of an American family. She will stay in Boston for one year and then have a month’s holiday in the Caribbean.

From there to Vancouver, where she is hoping to work her passage on a ship to Aukland, New Zealand. She will work in New Zealand for six months and then go on to Tasmania to visit friends and to work through the apple picking season there.

After this her plans are vague but she hopes to be able to make her way home sometime in 1968.

Bon Voyage and good luck, Jennie.
