Len Fuggle sent in these wartime photographs of the Rye Flight of
304 Air Training Corps Squadron.
At this time the lads from Rye were members of the Hastings Squadron,
it was not until after the War that Rye got its own 2274 Squadron
that was based on the old Rye Grammar School.
The picture below is of great historical interest. It was taken on the
Salts on V.E.Day 1945.
Among those in the pictures are – Percy Fletcher (in civies!) Charlie
Buss, Brian Hatter, Richard Pettit, Bobby Edwards, Len Fuggle, Gordon
Weller, Claude Smith, Charlie Williams, Len Case, Ronnie Adams, Peter
Bray, Alec Law, Fred Hatter, John Wickens, Geoff Tickner, Fred Martin,
Clifford Bloomfield, Bob Bennett, Norman Lock, Bob Hobbs, Fred Fellows,
Gordon Weller, Frank Ashenden, Harry Kennard, Ken Lock, Alby Crouch,
Morris Sherwood, Edward Bear and many other Rye lads.
