It was an evening of quiet celebration at the Thomas Peacocke College on Wednesday 13 February when the proceeds of the Christmas Festival, £1264, was presented, along with £500 from the College and £500 from Rye Lions, to Demelza House.

There was much talk about the Festival, a fantastic success, even in the face of the terrible weather for the procession. Plans are already being made to make next year’s Festival an even greater success.
There was great relief when Peter Cosstick and Debbie Beverley, who co-ordinated the event in 2007 announced they would be happy to do the job for one more year.
Among those attending the reception were The Mayor & Mayoress of Rye, Councillor and Mrs. Paul Osborne, Kerry de Courcy M.B.E., Bill Coleman President of Rye & District Lions and many others who had a hand in the 2007 Rye Christmas Festival.
