A Roman Catholic priest from Rye, now living in Redclyffe Road, Urmston, Manchester, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates Court on 15 October, charged with offences relating to indecent images of children.
Paul Clarke, 71, faces four charges.
Possession of an indecent image of a child, possession of prohibited images, and allegations that he downloaded over 3000 indecent images of children from the internet. None of the images are of local children.
