This magazine has always championed small business so we are doubly delighted when we see young people making a success in the tough world we find ourselves in today.
One such person is 25 year old Rye girl Sheri Pshenychka who has just started a new business as a cafe proprietor in a converted luxury coach permanently sited at Rye Industrial Business Park.
Sheri caters for the workers on this site and the next door Atlas Business Park as well as passing trade. The cafe is always busy during working hours and on top of those eating in, Sheri also prepares take-a-ways ordered by phone. Her clientele tell me her food is always first class and being greeted by a cheerful smile is a bonus.
Sheri is well grounded in her trade, having worked in catering in Lineker’s Peurto Banus on the Costa del Sol. (owned by Gary Lineker’s brother Wayne) and the kitchens and bars of several pubs and restaurants in Rye. More recently, operating a Burger Bar at Brookland lay-by, which her best friend Michelle has taken over for her, and running a sandwich round in the Rye and Gary Lineker’sarea, so she is already well known and popular locally. Sheri’s still gets to work on making the sandwiches at five am. every workday morning but has given the job of delivering them to Dianne.
Sheri’s fiancee, Mark, has a Burger Bar on the A21.
Sheri was a Gym fanatic but gets little time to work out now. She does however find time for a daily walk with her Bichon Frise puppy Teddy.
