Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris, a Chelsea Legend who played 795 games over 21 years for the ‘Blues’, will be Guest of Honour for the inaugural Rye Sporting Dinner at the River Haven Hotel, on Thursday 17th March.
Born in Hackney, Ron was a Londoner through and through. He finished his career at Brentford, notching up a total of 716 League appearances. He is best remembered for his defensive prowess but did score 13 league goals in his time at Chelsea. The evening, in aid of the 1066 Sporting Club, is sure to be popular. In addition to Ron Harris the evening features the ever popular comedian Adger Brown. 1066 promise a fabulous four course meal and warm hospitality. Tickets are £35.00 per person – with tables of 10 available for £325.00. A representative of 1066 told a “Rye’s Own” reporter it would be a good way to entertain your clients, reward your staff or simply socialise with friends at a top quality event. For further information please Terry Avann on 07885-298134.
