July proved to be an important month in the life of our regular Country contributor, Jimper Sutton.
As a member of the Wildfowlers Association and helper at the Wild life Conservation area at Redland Gravel Pits. Sevenoaks, Jimper was presented to Prince Philip. when H.R.H. visited the site to view the work that has been carried out there.
Jimper Sutton has been taking pond weed from the Winchelsea Beach area to Sevenoaks by the lorryload over the past seven years and helped to transform the disused and barren gravel pits into a beautiful nature reserve teeming with wildlife.
Prince Phillip. who is patron of the Wildfowlers Association of Great Britain and Ireland, timed his visit to coincide with Nature Conservation Year, and he planted a tree to commemorate the visit.
