Members of the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Management Committee recently received a cheque from Jempson’s of Peasmarsh for £465.29.
This is the amount of money donated to date by Jempson’s customers at the Peasmarsh Superstore over the past year.
The cheque represents a further donation towards the restoration of Peasmarsh Memorial Hall which finally received Lottery funding in August 2012 and as all Peasmarsh residents can see work has started and is progressing very well despite the weather.
Hilary Pankhurst Secretary to the Memorial Hall Committee said ‘Unfortunately the roof wasn’t as sound as we had hoped and will have to be completely refurbished so we will be continuing to fund raise as hard as we can’. She continued ‘ It is anticipated that the work will be completed in Spring next year and the Hall will be back in business as soon as possible after that’.
Stephen Jempson said ‘The village hall is a central part of our community life; both Andrew and I would like to thank our customers for their generosity which has made this donation possible’.
