Police and air ambulance called after two men shot in High Halden
A man was arrested at High Halden near Tenterden yesterday (Thursday 3 November) on suspicion of attempted murder after two men were shot near the village
Firearms officers, police helicopters and an air ambulance were called to the scene near Martens Lane, High Halden yesterday morning. Two men who had suffered gunshot wounds were taken to hospital.
Householders were told to stay indoors as they searched for the gunman, there was a lock down of the area and road blocks for several hours. A man was detained by the police in the late afternoon and taken into custody.
A police statement said
“Kent Police is continuing to carry out enquiries in the High Halden area following an incident reported at 11.12am on 3 November 2016. Officers were called to the Marten Park area of High Halden, Ashford, where two men who had sustained gunshot wounds had been found. The men were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. Officers arrested a man at 4.55pm on 3 November, on suspicion of attempted murder.”
