Police are seeking witnesses to an armed robbery outside a bank in Eastbourne.
Just after 11.15am on Wednesday (24 February) a security guard delivering a box containing several thousand pounds cash to the Nat West Bank in Brassey Avenue, Eastbourne, was approached just outside the bank by a man carrying what appeared to be a long barrelled firearm.
The suspect demanded the box and the guard handed it over. No shots were fired and the guard was not hurt.
The suspect got into a blue BMW which drove away and was abandoned and set on fire further along Brassey Avenue shortly afterwards.
The suspect was seen to run into nearby Parkfield Avenue and got into a white Transit type van which drove away.
Detective Inspector Neil Ralph said; “If you were in Brassey Avenue this morning and saw what happened, or the blue BMW, or the white van, or have any other information, please contact us via [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 443 of 24/02.
