Sun shines on the Lions Raft Race and Fete

This year, despite the dubious weather forecast, the sun shone on a record crowd at the Annual Rye Raft Race and Fete organised by Rye and District Lions Club. This was the 34th Race organised by the Lions who usually expect some 5,000 members of the public to attend. However, this year the numbers were so great that they found it impossible to estimate how many turned up for the event, but many, many more than ever before. Lunch With the Lions

More than 80 senior citizens from Rye and nearby villages enjoyed a Sunday lunch by courtesy of Rye & District Lions Club. The lunch was laid on at Rye Community Centre and all seniors that required transport were collected by Rye Community Transport and Lion Club members cars and returned home at the end of the afternoon. Lions Boost Demelsa

Demelza Hospice Care for Children provides hospice care for over 600 children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Sussex, Kent and South London. The charity has two hospices, an eight-bedded one in Sittingbourne and a six-bedded one in South East London and a base for nurses and staff at Magham Down near Hailsham.
