Want to Cycle in a Group?

Wheelers Start New Mini Club Rides Suitable for Slower and Novice Cyclists.

If you want to cycle but are worried about riding alone, Rye Wheelers have introduced an easy Tuesday ride for the winter months.

Club run – Starts Every Tuesday at 1 pm North Salts.

Meets main group at Appledore Bridge at 1.30 pm

A short run with short stop at cafe en route.

Will be fine for old stagers and those wanting to make a start.

Speed will be comfortable for the slowest rider.

Each run speed and distance will be governed by who is on the ride.

David will be at North Salts Rye at one and will ride down to Appledore and meet up with the 1.30 meet at the bridge.

Short runs through the winter and longer when the longer evenings arrive in the spring.

Ages 14 – 104 welcome

No one will be left behind.

This is the ideal opportunity to take up the healthiest and least demanding exercise. Good for those that want to lose weight, improve their health, or just enjoy the fresh air in good company.

Don’t worry if your bike is not a lightweight racer – Start with whatever bike you have, just make sure it is in good working order and that the tyres pump up and stay up and your lights are working.

Don’t worry about special clothing, most riders wear a crash helmet and something bright that can be seen.

Riding with a group has many advantages. If there are problems there is plenty of help to sort it out. Riding in a group also makes the miles much shorter. There will be experienced riders who know the country routes with little traffic.

Rides will be short and stopping places limited but if you start now, by the spring you will be stronger and fitter and ready for more adventurous rides.

Cycling is the best way to lose weight. If you do enough you will lose weight without dieting.

There is plenty of space at Appledore to park a car for those that wish to miss out the Rye – Appledore road.
