The Kettle O’ Fish and Jimper Support Memorial Care Centre

An endless stream of diners partook of a special Fish and Chip Supper at the brand new Kettle O’Fish Restaurant on Saturday 27 March. The event raised a grand total of over £500 for the benefit of the Memorial Care Centre at Rye.

The evening was organised by volunteers Margo Wege and Rosemary Bagley under the wing of Ann Hostler the Memorial Care Centre fund-raiser with the kind permission and co-operation of owner George Angele, who donated a large portion of proceeds from the supper to the Care Centre.

Guest of Honour was well known local fishing personality and countryman, Jimper Sutton.

The evening, which ran from 6pm. to 9pm. was interspersed by numerous bonus awards and a raffle competition for prizes kindly donated by well-wishers.

The event had its ‘just rewards’ for all who indulged in the fresh moist fish and chips, delectable desserts and beverages in the pristine restaurant.

George Angele has completely revamped, modernised and extended the “Kettle of Fish” since he acquired the property two years ago, adding wonderful eating facilities with extended menu and bar to a business that has always been well known for the fine quality of its fish and chips.Fiss
