Scooters by the Sea

Earlier this month, on Saturday 3rd July in fact, Ion Castro was strolling past the Pelham car park, camera by his side, when he thought he’d fallen into a time-warp as he came across this fabulous display of hundreds of Lambrettas, Vespas, Innocentis and Piaggios (Scooters to the rest of us) and the most unusual of them all, the mean green machine “Bonkers”. Back in the ‘60’s the riders would have slept under the pier, but where did they all stay this time because they were spotted again the following day wending their way back up the A21 – and in reply to the question often asked back in the 60’s, no, you couldn’t switch all those lights on at once! Did you notice the registration T20MOD? (picture C100703-03)
