Oliver’s New Innovations Keep it Ahead of the Rest

Rye’s web site www.rye-tourism.co.uk has undergone several changes over the last six months, which has increased the number of individual visitors to the site to as many as 1200 a day – representing roughly 4 million hits per year.

Web developer Oliver Campion says “This is due to the site’s strong positioning within the search engines and the fact that we have also handed out nearly a quarter of a million Rye Town maps directly to visitors, which promote the site.”

“Rye’s Own” is included in the site bringing more of a community feel to the web site. Articles from back numbers of the magazine are regularly uploaded to the archive section, keeping the editorial side fresh and interesting.”

Oliver Campion's Rye Tourism Site now has a "Rye's Own" section including article archives.

“Our Accommodation section now has a smart little feature which enables the listings to be shown in a random order each time the page is viewed. This means that there’s no advantage in calling your business the Aaron Aardvark B & B! It’s a much fairer way of showing the list and has been commanded especially by businesses at the wrong end of the alphabet!”

The site now has a nearby Towns and Villages section – we are looking for contributions (all of which are accredited) on local history, photographs, events, articles – anything of interest. Please e-mail Oliver [email protected]

The Rye web site is maintained and hosted by local internet and IT business Webtec Design – known in the area for their competitive and reliable internet development and hosting services and for their computer maintenance and repair services.
