Road Rage at Winchelsea

Appeal for motorcyclist witnesses to Winchelsea road rage collision

Police 2

Police are appealing for witnesses particularly two motorcyclists who may have seen a road rage collision on the A259 at Winchelsea.

On Sunday 31 July at around 2.20pm a collision happened on theĀ  A259 Winchelsea on Tanyard Lane near to the junction of Strand Hill. This involved a lorry with a trailer carrying fairground equipment and a Ford Transit van.

It appears the lorry failed to stop so the van driver managed to follow it towards Ashford, Kent, and get in front of it. The lorry then went into the rear of the van. Both drivers got out and an argument ensued before police were called.

Both drivers were uninjured but a 46-year-old woman passenger in the van suffered whiplash.

Police are looking for any witness to this and are particularly interested in speaking to two motorcyclists that saw the initial collision.

If you have any information contact police by emailing [email protected] or ring 101 quoting serial 943 of 31/07.
