“Rodney Booth was still a Boy”

Fifty years ago, when Rodney Booth was still a boy, the very first issue of “Rye’s Own” was delivered to all Rye newsagents.

It was an immediate success and now, fifty years later, “The Little Magazine with the Big Heart” as Cannon John Williams called it, will still be on sale at Rye Newsagents.

Who lit the Bonfire in 1965? A very famous TV personality of the time. Of course this ladies’ name is not mentioned, as the magazine went on sale before the 5th, and Rye Fawkes name was a closely guarded secret.
