Rye Wheelers started the year in style with individual wins in both men’s and women’s events. Wheeler of the Wheelers took the honours with a win over very formidible opposition, even beating Shaun Yates, the former Tour de France Yellow Jersey holder, by over a minute. Rye Cricket Club is the oldest sporting institution in the town, and
one of the oldest Cricket Clubs in the world having been founded in
1754. The club started life playing at Camber Castle, before moving
to play on Gibbets Marsh. The arrival of the railway then forced
a second relocation in 1844 to the existing ground, The Rye Cricket

Rye’s youth rugby teams travelled to Uckfield on Sunday 11th October with 2 full squads.

Once again it was the second Sunday in August and time for the highlight of the time trial year for me! It was up at the crack of dawn, sadly not to ride but to assist two of our riders, Mark Amon and Dave Wheeler, both of whom were riding their first twelve hour event.
